THE SKY TURNED BRIGHT PURPLE OVER SAN MARCOS, CALIFORNIA A huge purple glow lit up the entire sky over San Marcos, California — so bright it looked like the whole atmosphere shifted color. A deep, vivid purple dome stretching over the neighborhood. People nearby said the glow appeared suddenly and covered the sky evenly, almost like the light was coming from above, not the ground.
